President’s Message November 2024

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

Before the end of the year, we have the Blanchard Veterans Day parade, the Oklahoma City Stockyards Cowboy Christmas parade, and the 99s Museum of Women Pilots tour. I know most of you will be able to get qualified for the 1,000 Mile patch before the end of the year. The form to register for qualification is on the web site. This will be the last Scuttlebutt for 2024.

The Sooner Model A Club Christmas Party is on Sunday at 2:00pm on December 15, 2024 at the Will Rogers Garden Center. This is our regular club meeting date but there will be NO meeting. We hope everyone can come to the Christmas Party. The cost is $10.00 per person and the club will pick up the remaining costs. Reservations must be made and paid for by 1 December to ensure the count for the caterer. Of course, we will play “Dirty Santa.” The “gifts” should cost less than $25.00.

This is also a good time to pay your $20.00 dues for 2025. Thank you, Steve Davis, for donating four tickets for the OKC Polar Express Christmas train, which were auctioned off at the October club meeting. The highest bidder was Greg Hoyle.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone. I want to thank everyone for supporting me and the Sooner Model A Club these last three years. It has been a great pleasure to serve as your president, because this Club is a great way to help one another with our love for keeping our Model A’s on the road. We have found many friends who enjoy the same things we do. I know that all of you will support the new President and the new Board as we move forward into 2025.
