President’s Message March 2025

Dear Sooner Model A Club members,

As March arrives, we are hoping the very cold weather is over. Even though it was cold and windy, there was an impressive turnout of Model A’s for the tour at Great Plains Cotton Gin last month. We had lunch afterwards at Nachitos Mexican Restaurant in Minco. Thank you to Greg and Sheryl for arranging the cotton gin tour and the lunch.

The National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum requested a Model A for the Catholic Charities fundraiser at the Green Tie Gala, so Don volunteered to take his car over for the evening. Chuck was with him and took some pictures. The pictures are also on the Facebook page, and there was some speculation that the party was to honor Don, but that has not yet been confirmed.

We look forward to getting our Model A’s out again for three parades that we have planned for the Spring. First is the St. Partick’s Day parade in Stockyards City on Saturday, March 15th, then we have the 89er parade in Guthrie on April 19th, and the Armed Forces Day parade in Del City on May 17th. I hope everyone can participate in at least one or more of the parades. Driving the Model A in a parade is fun for us and it brings enjoyment to so many people.

The Spring Tour, hosted by the Tulsa Club, is scheduled for April 24 to 27 in Ponca City. The Tulsa Club has lots of activities planned for us. Information about the tour is included in this issue, so we can make our reservations and mark our calendars.

Thank you, everyone, for paying the $20.00 annual dues. The dues have remained at $20.00 for many years, even as our expenses keep going up. We hope to see you at an event, or a meeting, or somewhere along the Model A road.

Phil Wolfenbarger, President
