President’s Message January 2025

Dear Sooner Model A Club members, Happy New Year. I hope all of you enjoyed the holidays and had your Christmas wishes come true. This is a new year with a new president and a new board for the Club. Vonnie, as Vice-President, has already arranged for a great tour at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame Gaylord Pickens Museum on January 25th, and lunch afterwards at The Mule. David is the coordinator for demonstrations at the club meetings, so please contact David if you would like to do a demo or want to suggest a topic for a demo. At the November meeting, Joe and Chuck gave a terrific demonstration about the backup cameras they each have in their Model A’s. Our tour at the 99’s Museum of Women’s Pilots, on a cold and windy day, had eight Model A’s in attendance, and lunch at Bunny’s was wonderful, as usual. The Cowboy Christmas parade, in December at Stockyards City, had 13 Model A’s and the weather was perfect. While we were waiting for the parade to start, Jim had a flat tire that several of us, including me, participated in changing. Greg helped too, even though Hank had to be passed off to someone else temporarily. Luckily, Jim had a spare tire and didn’t have to borrow one from Chuck. We went to Bubba’s again on December 5th to help them celebrate the anniversary of the end of Prohibition. Many thanks go out to Greg and Sheryl and Don and Marilyn for setting up and decorating the tables for the Christmas party. I am looking forward to serving as president, and I will need some help to make sure everyone who wants to participate will have their chance. The Club is very fortunate to have so many people who are willing to share their abilities, and I am looking forward to all of the adventures we will have in 2025. I will doing a demonstration at the January meeting about the Model A body types, and I hope to see you there.

Phil Wolfenbarger, President
