President’s Message February 2026

Dear Sooner Model A Club members,

Happy Valentines Day.  We hope you can join us on the day after Valentine’s Day, February 15th, at Incredible Pizza.  So far, it looks like Sunday will be a bright sunny day with no rain or snow.

At the club meeting on February 22nd, Count Gregore will give a presentation and then he will let us help him celebrate his 98th birthday.  It should be very interesting and a lot of fun, and we will be having birthday cake.

Last month, we enjoyed visiting the Interpretive Center in Chandler.  It was cold and windy, but we were mostly inside looking at all the exhibits and learning about the history of Route 66 in the  building that used to be a National Guard Armory.  We had lunch afterwards at the  restaurant/bowling alley/former gas station with plenty of gas station signs in the parking lot.  It was very interesting.

Don and Chuck have finalized the plans for the Spring Tour, April 23-26.  There will be a lot to see in the Enid area, so we hope you can join us.  The schedule is in the Scuttlebutt, and information about how to register is included.  The driving directions for the tour will be available in the meeting room at the hotel.

Next month, in March, we have a few activities to enjoy in the Oklahoma City area, including the St Patricks’ Day Parade in Stockyards City, Bob Wills Day at the State Capitol, and the annual Chisholm Trail celebration in Kingfisher, which includes the chuckwagon (with the free samples) at The Chisholm.

We are still on the lookout for interesting topics for the club meetings, so please let us hear your ideas.  We are looking forward to seeing you soon, at some meeting or event or parade or somewhere for lunch.    Happy Valentines Day to all.

Phil Wolfenbarger, President
