President’s Message July 2024
We hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July holiday, even with the 100 degree weather. We look forward to seeing everyone at our regular club meeting on Sunday, July 21 at 2 PM. The meeting is our ice cream social, and there will be a variety of ice cream flavors and toppings.
Due to the wildfires, the 2024 MAFCA National Tour to Ruidoso, NM was canceled. We were disappointed about not being able to go, but we are very thankful that there were no reports of injuries or loss of lives to the members of the Southwest Model A Ford Club. I know they put a lot of time and effort into the planning and arranging for this large event. There will be a lot of things for them to take care of after everything was canceled.
On the local front, your President and Vice-President are in their third term, and are term limited. We need to elect a new President and Vice-President. Phil Wolfenbarger was appointed to head up the nominating committee, and he will be looking for suggestions and/or volunteers for these or any other positions in the club. In order for the Club to be successful, it is important for everyone to contribute in their own way. We always need help in bringing the supplies needed for the refreshments, as well as set-up and break-down after the meetings.
The refreshments following our regular monthly club meetings have grown, and the Board has decided to scale back, like years ago, and simplify it with cookies or other similar snacks. We do need someone to be in charge and bring the paper supplies and utensils as well as setting up the refreshment table for the refreshments. Marilyn would like to give up this duty, after doing it for a number of years, and she would be willing to help whenever she is able. Please contact a Board Member for more information.
