President’s Message August 2024

Welcome to the hot, lazy and hazy days of summer. For those
of us who do not have air conditioning in their Model A, it is just too
hot to ride around in now. We look forward to the Fall for wonderful
trips to show off our Model A’s. We have a trip planned September
18th to the Infant Jesus Shrine in Prague. Additionally, there are two
parades, the Western Days Parade on 7 September in Mustang and the
Czech Festival Parade on 5 October in Yukon.
The Fall tour, sponsored by the Tulsa Model A Ford Club,
from 17 to 20 October 2024, had to change their destination due to
storm damage and major construction in Bentonville, Arkansas. The
Fall Tour will be in Van Buren, Arkansas. The dates are still 17 to 20
October and more information on the tour will be made available
when finalized. See the Activities Schedule on page two for Hotel
information and the deadline for hotel reservations.
I want to thank the nominating committee members of Phil
Wolfenbarger, Carla Newton and Jim Yates, for doing the very
important and difficult task of finding the willing and dedicated
candidates to move this club into 2025. The candidates are as follows:
President – Phil Wolfenbarger, Vice-President – Vonnie Meritt,
Secretary – Carla Newton, Treasurer – Chuck Dusenbery,
Editor – Karen Dusenbery, Webmaster – Jim Yates,
Director – David Swain, Director – Joe Astafan.
The nominees will be announced at the August meeting and voted on
at the September meeting.
Also, I want to thank Joe Astafan for continuing to do the very
important job of membership and running the registration and 50/50
pot for each meeting. Thank you, Kaye Sage, for providing our club
activities for the Restorer Magazine and keeping up to date on the
Sunshine committee with the get well cards and sympathy cards.
