President’s Message February 2024

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone.

It is that time of the year when we can expect some nice days to get our Model A’s out on the road. We plan to have a checkup day on Saturday, March 23rd at Phil’s house. Greg will be there to diagnose and oversee what needs to be done. No major work like oil changes, head gaskets, or major brake work will be done that day. It will be an opportunity to check our cars for summer driving. Phil is going to supervise and advise.

On Sunday, our February 18th meeting will feature a Burtz-Block set up by Greg Hoyle.

A Saturday morning tour is planned for the Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine. The tour will be on Saturday, 24 February at 9 AM. The address for the Shrine is 700 SE 89th Street in Oklahoma City, west of Interstate 35 on SE 89th St. We will meet at the Shrine, and I have requested Tour Guides. The tour should last 1 to 2 hours. Then we can go to lunch.

On 16 March, we have the Stockyards St Patrick’s Day parade. This is a fun parade and maybe afterwards we can go back to Bunnies Onion Burger and see the Robot deliver our food.

April 25 to 28, the Spring Tour is planned with the Tulsa Model A Ford Club to go to Fort Sill and see some of the Historic landmarks, as well as Geronimo’s grave site and the U. S. Army Artillery Museum. On day two, we will drive to the Wildlife Refuge and Holy City Chapel; then on to Frederick, where we will have lunch and learn more about the Abernathy Boys.

On Saturday, May 11th, the Tulsa Model A Ford Club invited us to join them at the Gathering Place. More information about this will be coming soon.
