President’s Message June 2025

Dear Sooner Model A Club members,

As I’m writing this message, it is raining again. I know we are all happy to see the full lakes and streams, but some of us have the kind of Model A where it rains inside the car as well as on the outside, and the Oklahoma weather usually includes storms with the rain. Because of the rain and stormy weather, we barely had enough board members for a quorum at the board meeting.

Due to the expectation of storms this weekend, the picnic and car club gathering, arranged by Don Sable, one of our members, has been postponed to July 12th. OKC Coffee & Cars and the Tulsa Club have also cancelled their Saturday activities because of the weather forecast.

Chuck and Don have been very busy with the planning of the Fall Tour on October 16-19. Everything is all arranged, and unless something changes in Norman, we are all set. The hotel information and the schedule are in this issue of the Scuttlebutt. The driving instructions will be released soon. Don and Chuck will continue to monitor the route, as you never know when there will be more road construction.

The Club Meeting for June will be at the neighborhood clubhouse of Terry & Judy Joy. We are having a neighborhood parade with the Model A’s at 1:30pm. The meeting and refreshments will be after the parade.

On June 22nd, we are meeting for lunch at Incredible Pizza on NW Expressway. The Club has been there several times, and we always have a good time eating and visiting.

In July, we are participating in the Independence Day Parades in Bethany and Edmond. Except for August, there is a parade in our schedule each month for the rest of the year. We are hoping to see you soon. Eventually, the rain will stop.
