President Message August 2023

Greetings to All,

It has been a hot and stormy August so far, which makes it a little bit difficult to get out in the Model A, but we know the cooler weather is on the way and we will have more trips in the A after all the heat subsides.  

We were very pleased to have ten people for the train ride at the Oklahoma Railway Museum.  Don’t forget about our Club meeting on 22 August and Breakfast at Simone’s on 26 August.  We will have watermelon at the August meeting.  

The Sooner Club is sponsoring the joint tour with the Tulsa Model A Ford Club on 8-11 October.  We will be visiting some very exciting venues in Guthrie and Oklahoma City.  We are always awed and impressed with the great participation of Tulsa club members.  

The cooler weather is on the way.  In September, we have the Mustang Western Days parade, and we are visiting the museum and taking the trolley ride in El Reno.  At the September club meeting, we will have the vote on the club officers for 2024.  In October, we are looking forward to the Czech Parade in Yukon, the Fall Tour, and the Mansions Car Show with the free lunch.  At the Mansions last year, Terry Joy won the prize.

There was some discussion at the board meeting about changing the meeting day back to a Sunday afternoon.  We want to accommodate as many of our members as possible, but we will need your input.  If you have any suggestions, please attend a board meeting and let us know.
