President’s Message October 2023

Welcome to Fall, We had a great Fall Tour of Guthrie and OKC with the Tulsa Model A Club and a few people from Texas and Kansas.  It was a busy time, but I think everyone enjoyed the tour in our backyard. We all enjoyed showing off some of the important places we have here in Oklahoma City, and we had the chance to learn some more history.

Thank you, Vonnie and Kay Lee Meritt, for making the hats and donating them.  Thanks to Jim, of the Dallas Club, for wearing his hat for the entire tour.  Thank you also, to Chuck and Karen Dusenbery, for their tireless work on this tour.

Don’t forget that we are changing the club meetings to the 3rd Sunday of each month at 2:00 PM, starting in January.  The meeting in January 2024 will be on January 19th. Remember to pay your dues of only $20.00 per year for the family.  It is a bargain.

The Christmas party is Sunday, the 10th of December, at 2:00pm at the Will Rogers Garden Center.  Earls’ will cater the dinner again, and of course we will play Dirty Santa.  The cost is $25.00 per person for the Christmas party.  So please bring your check books to the October Club meeting to pay for your dues and the Christmas party.

We averaged around eight Model A’s at the Yukon Parade, the Mansions Retirement Home, and at the Baptist Retirement Home.   Everyone is welcome to attend these events.  People enjoy seeing and talking about our Model A’s.  Our next parade is the Veteran’s Day parade in Blanchard on Saturday, November 11th.  Line up is at 9:30 at 10th and Main, across from the church.

The Board is open to all volunteers and/or suggestions for any upcoming meeting or event.  I want to thank everyone who has ever provided food or drinks, or worked at setting up and taking down the table and chairs for each meeting.

I am looking forward to seeing you at the next activity.

Don Mitchell, President
